The aim of the work is to develop a perspective model of the system of protection of public order and public safety based on the distribution of functions and tasks between the National Guard of Ukraine and the National Police of Ukraine, taking into account the best practices of the functioning of the police systems of the Western countries. In this work, the role and place of the National Guard of Ukraine in the protection of public order and public security in various situations have been substantiated. Methods of research - general scientific theoretical and empirical methods based on the principles of martial art, methods of logical, scenario-situational modeling, system-structural and system-functional analysis, operations research. The practical significance of the results of the study is the possibility of their use in improving the domestic legal framework in order to distribute rationally the functions and tasks between the National Police of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine in the field of public order and security protection.
