The purpose of the research is to parametrizate the properties of chernozem of the southern and chernozems common for the development of measures for the effective use and protection of land in the southwestern region of Ukraine.The object of research - automorphic soils of the North-Western Black Sea is black chernozem and southern black earth.Methods of research: comparative-geographical, profile and comparative-analytical methods, method of key plots.The conditions of soil formation and morphology parameters of chernozems of ordinary, chernozems of southern and dark chestnut soils in 16 soil sections, including 5 key areas, have been investigated.It is established that the main differences between the genetic and geographical groups of the chernozems are the features of the structure of the humus profile - its power and qualitative characteristics of humus, facial abnormalities expressed by the nature of the distribution of carbonates, the shape of tumors and their sequence in the soil layer. Significant influence on the formation of local features of soil cover is economic activity of man, in particular, within the studied area - irrigation.
