The structure-properties correlations for these materials are established with aim to find a new application for progressive nonlinear optics and photonics. It is found that the Bi-Tm glasses studied should be potential as light conversion material for realizing ultra-broadband emission covering 1.0-2.0 ?m, especially capable of being combined with commercial blue-emitting LED. A new type of composite material based on the ZnO and ureasil matrixes with Si-O groups with silver nanoparticles is fabricated by using ion implantation. It is found that the non-linear optical properties of oxide polarizing glasses with silver nanowires depend strongly on the concentration of silver nanowires, being expressed more essentially as their concentration increases in the glass matrix.
