The structure and properties of the synthesized compounds were studied using NMR, IR, UV-Vis and fluorescence spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction. Applying the modern DFT quantum-chemical methods with various hybrid functionals, the HOMO and LUMO energies of series of organic electron donors, electron acceptors and vinylogues series of cationic, anionic and intraionic dyes based on them, as well as elementary units of photoconductive polymers were calculated. The theoretically predicted energies were experimentally verified using cyclic voltammetry method. The optimal structures were selected out and synthesized and photovoltaic composites based on them were created. Their spectral-luminescent and photo-electro-physical properties were studied. The scientific basis for creating of organic photovoltaic composites based on donor-acceptor systems has been developed.
