The study of a numerical mathematical model for accelerating the movement of a gas stream carrying a discrete particle in a Laval nozzle to the required speeds in the ANSYS numerical simulation system was carried out, a model was developed, and the process of particle impact colliding with a sample surface in the Abaqus / CAE 2018 numerical simulation system was performed, and the main parameters of the installation for applying protective coatings are determined. The result of the work is a scientifically based installation parameters for the surface coating of chemical equipment elements with protective particles under which the conditions for the formation of a coating layer are fulfilled. Developed criteria for assessing the quality of the protective coating and means for their determination.
