The research method is a comparative analysis of the requirements of the guiding documents regarding the individual protection of a soldier from fire damage during combat operations and special-purpose operations; methods of mechanics of deformable solids, analytical mechanics, dynamics of multiphase media. The system of initial equations and relations for the description of nonstationary, including wave, vibrational movements of various heterogeneous or multiphase mixtures, widely represented in various natural processes and branches of human activity, and especially in close connection with active promotion of new non-traditional materials in the sphere of creation of elements of combat equipment and personal protection of personnel from the action of various kinds of striking elements.On the basis of the basic principles of the shock theory, the phenomenon of reflection (ricochet) of the damaging factor from the protective structure is studied; At the same time, investigated the degree of zones of protection of the protective structure. The results of the work are the initial data (suggestions) on the methodology for assessing the protective properties of ballistic helmets to the draft State (military) standard "Personal protective equipment.
