The object of research is the natural ecosystem of the reserve, the subject of research is biodiversity conservation and the transformation of ecosystems, the purpose of the study is biocenotic monitoring, rare species of plants and animals , development of measures for their preservation.An electronic database is formed based on the results of phenological observations and a natural calendar is compiled. According to the results of field research in 2016, 39 new localities of 20 species of rare higher plants were mapped and plotted, and floristic descriptions of sites were conducted. The cenopopulation studies of plant species included in the Red Book of Ukraine have been continued.The list of the flora of the reserve was supplemented by a new representative of Digitaria sanguinalis (L.) Scop .. The results of the fauna records on the routes and inns are given. The fauna of vertebrate animals during 2016 was replenished with a new species of birds, Nucifraga caryocatactes, found during migration. The reasons for changing the number of individual species and fauna groups are analyzed, results of monitoring for rare fauna species are presented. The results of research of old forest forests of the reserve are presented, features of their natural transformation are noted.
