The analysis of methodical approaches of international practice for assessing the dynamics of carbon emissions from land cultivation, which is the basis of the proposed methodology for assessing changes in carbon stocks in a reservoir of mineral soils, taking into account the natural and climatic features of the regions, has been carried out. The basic component of the proposed national methodology is the assessment of balance nitrogen flows based on the volumes of crop and fertilizer harvesting. A time series of statistical data and an array of coefficients and calculation parameters have been formed for assessing changes in carbon stocks in soils of arable land in Ukraine. Based on the results of the work, an assessment of changes in carbon stocks from the reservoir of mineral soils in the context of nature-climatic zones was conducted.
