The work purpose - development of a terahertz scanner that can be used in systems of control and security for remote non-destructive testing and visualization of content of letters and small parcels with the purpose of obtaining information about the presence in them of such materials as tablets, powders, objects made of ceramic, plastic, metal. Research methods - characterization of sources of radiation, determining optical characteristics of radiation detectors, mathematical modeling of the optical system, determining the electrical characteristics of integrated circuits. A structural diagram of the scanner was developed, line-mounted terahertz receivers sensitive to 140 GHz were manufactured, characteristics of two 140 GHz sources of radiation were determined, a control unit for radiation sources was developed. As a result of the work, a prototype terahertz scanner with software for scanner control and image processing was created.
