The most significant group of allergens in the southern regions of Ukraine is weed pollen. Seasonal bronchial asthma manifests itself in children (especially younger ones) significantly more often than in adults. In 385 children with bronchial asthma, differences in reactions to various types of allergens and indoor air pollutants have been studied, depending on the age, severity and course of occurrence, as well as the spectrum of associated diseases. It was established that the frequency of response to pollen is directly proportional to the age of patients, the severity and duration of the occurrence of bronchial asthma in children. With age, sensitivity to chemical air pollutants, sensitization to household allergens increases, but decreases to food allergens.
