It has been demonstrated that the level of human umbilical cord blood (UCB) hemopoietic tissue (HT) cryosensitivity (due to procentage granulocyte-macrophage progenitors (GMPs) loss) has direct correlation with lipid peroxidation products (LPO) activity indices (with moderate and strong connection). The relative risk of loss of GMPs is significantly increased under the condition of high levels of LPO in UCB before beginning of the processing. Evaluation of the activity level of prooxidant processes in UCB using the biochemical markers before the start of the freezing procedure is valuable because of the possibility of creating an early prediction of the HT cryosensitivity, which can be useful in choosing cryopreservation tactics. It has been shown that antioxidants with different mechanisms of action (vitamin B1, B6 and B12 complex; ?-lipoid acid, thiazotic acid morpholinium salt, 2-ethyl-6-methyl-3-hydroxypyridine succinate) almost equally affect the oxidant status and equally increase stability of the umbilical cord blood nuclear cell suspensions to the cryopreservation negative factors.
