The objects of the study in the first stage were: birch bark and betulin, which represented raw materials for the following modifications. During the first stage of the project (October-December 2018) the following results were obtained: 1. The collection of natural raw materials from dried and overgrown birch trees was carried out in the forests of the Krasnokutsky district of the Kharkiv region. 2. Initial preparation of the raw materials for further processing. The bark was dried, manually chopped to sizes of approximately 1 - 1.5 cm2 by means of an electric shredder and brought to acceptable sizes for extraction, approximately 0.2 cm2. 3. The removal of betulin from birch bark was carried out in two ways. It was established that the most optimal method was extraction with chloroform. 4.
