It was found that in plants with the target gene for ornithine-aminotransferase, the application of primer to the Sukkula retrotransposon was the most effective, where four new amplicons were obtained in the spectrum of amplification products. The data obtained indicate that just insertion of foreign DNA induces transpositions of the retrotransposons Sukkula and Sukkula/Nikita, Wham/Sabrina, since they were not detected in control plants of wild type regenerated from in vitro culture. When using these high-performance primers to retrotransposons in transgenic wheat plants containing the double-stranded RNA suppressor of the proline dehydrogenase gene, DNA polymorphism was not detected. To expand the spectrum of amplicons in the PCR products of the studied samples, we tested the method of combining IRAP primers to various retrotransposons in one reaction, however, using this method, no disappearance nor appearance of new polymorphic fragments was found. The absence of DNA polymorphism in transgenic plants with a double-stranded RNA suppressor of the proline dehydrogenase gene may be associated with the phenomenon of RNA interference suppressing the activity of retrotransposons.
