Purpose of researches of stage: to develop technologies for assessing the psychological characteristics and functional state of athletes, including organizational and methodical components, a program for testing sports, informative techniques and scales for assessing the functional potential of athletes, software for evaluating regulatory mechanisms of disadaptation; to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed technology and criteria for assessing the degree of emotional stress in conditions of intense activity, psychological characteristics and changes in the functional status of athletes while controlling the process of sports training at various stages; to develop scientifically-based recommendations and proposals on the correction of the training process and competitive activities of qualified athletes, which will reduce the level of risk of emotional stress among athletes. Object of researches: Psychological and psychophysiological features of an organism, activity of functional systems of an organism, parameters of physical ability to work. Subject of researches: the specificity of manifestation of emotional stress and reactions of functional systems as a result of maladaptation to intense athletic training Methods of researches: A set of methods for determining individual-typological peculiarities of higher nervous activity of athletes (level of functional mobility of nerve processes, balance of nerve processes, level of performance of brain cells), basic parameters of functional state and properties of neuromuscular apparatus, psychological testing, questionnaires, observation, statistical methods. The results of the research: the technology of prediction of emotional stress, which includes organizational and methodical components, a program of testing on sports, informative methods and scales for assessing the psychoemotional status of athletes, and software for evaluating regulatory mechanisms for maladaptation, is developed. The efficiency of the proposed technology and the criteria for assessing the degree of emotional stress in the conditions of intense activity, psychological characteristics and changes in the functional state of athletes while controlling the process of sports training at various stages are proved. Scientifically grounded recommendations and suggestions on correction of training process and competitive activity of qualified athletes have been developed, which will reduce the level of risk of emotional stress among athletes.
