The regions with the most transformed aquatic ecosystems were identified as follows: the coastal lakes of the Danube Delta, the Dnieper-Bug estuary, the northern part of the Utlyuk liman, and majority of the small rivers of the Sea of Azov region. The main trends in the composition and structure of autochthonous aquatic and near-water biota, in particular, due to water pollution, reverse introductions (recurrences) and completion of non-indigenous species from other zoogeographical regions are discovered. The developed models of the spatial configuration of populations of near-water ground beetles make it possible to predict changes in the territories of the NRF under conditions of chronic landscape transformation and to determine the minimum size of reserves that can support the full biological diversity of autochthonous flora and fauna.
