In the study of the influence of surfactants of various classes on the rheological characteristics of dispersed systems based on coal and lower aliphatic alcohols, has been found that better characteristics of suspensions is got in case using non-ionic surfactants with sufficiently long aliphatic chains in quantities exceeding their critical micelle concentration, as well as the values of hydrophilic-lipophilic balance has range of 12,6 - 18. The study of the sedimentation stability of low-quality and concentrated coal suspensions at the metamorphism stage in the environment of the lower aliphatic alcohols of the methanol-pentanol series has been carried out. In the series of metamorphism alcohol-coal suspensions based on brown coal are least stable however anthracite-based suspensions are most stable. The dependence of the coal particles deposition on the kind of alcohols, which decreases in the series: methanol, ethanol, 2-propanol> 1-propanol, 2-methyl-1-propanol> 1-butanol, 3-methyl-1-butanol> 1-pentanol has been established. In order to stabilize highly concentrated alcohol-carbonic suspensions it is advisable to use substances, the hydrophobic part is represented by a linear radical or aromatic compounds and hydrophilic - by several functional groups. The investigation of the effect of molecular weight and concentration of stabilizers on the alcohol-coal suspensions stability has showed that the increasing molecular weight of the polymer, increase as the stability as the effective viscosity of the studying systems. It has been established that the use of a colloid mill as a homogenizer makes it possible to obtain highly concentrated disperse systems based on coal at different stages of metamorphism in media of different polarities. The prepared systems have been successfully tested on pilot units of LLC ANA-TEMS. The area of use is energy.
