The aim of the work is to select the most adapted to the conditions of insufficient moisture supply of the soil of perennial leguminous and cereal grasses depending on the species composition and the use of fertilizers and to develop the technology for creating perennial forage agrophytocenoses in the Southern Steppe of Ukraine. Research methods - field agrotechnical studies on non-irrigated lands with laboratory analysis in a certified agrochemical laboratory, statistical processing of the results, economic and energy assessment of agrotechnical methods of growing crops. A parametric base and a feasibility study of the technology for creating perennial forage agrophytocenoses in rainfed conditions of the Southern Steppe of Ukraine have been developed. The selected grass mixture composition was optimized, consisting of a white variety Aeneas tributary and middle-class wheat grass of the middle class, which ensured a high yield of feed units - 4.02 t / ha from 1 ha with a maximum amount of digestible protein - 0.81 t / ha with a level of profitability of 338.9%. On the crops of the second and third years, the use of alfalfa grass mixture with middle and harvested couch grass provided 3.54-4.15 t / ha of absolutely dry matter, 2.46-2.86 t / ha of feed units, 3632.05-4317, 12 MJ / ha of exchangeable energy and 0.48-0.60 t / ha of digestible protein with a profitability level of 167.5-198.1%. On the basis of the obtained results, scientific and practical recommendations have been developed on environmentally friendly technologies for the creation of perennial forage agrophytocenoses of the Southern Steppe based on the realization of the adaptive potential of drought-resistant species and varieties of perennial grasses. An experimental test and productive introduction of results of research work was conducted in State enterprise experimental farm Askaniyskoy Askaniyskoy State Experimental Station of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine. The results of the research will be used in the cultivation of fodder perennial grasses in agricultural farms of various forms of ownership in the Southern Steppe zone.
