The purpose of the work is to provide scientific substantiation and deepening of theoretical and methodological provisions and to elaborate practical recommendations for forming a strategy for the development of rural areas of Volyn region with an orientation towards the European integration perspective of Ukraine. According to the results of the research, the scientific-organizational principles and practical recommendations for forming the strategy of rural areas development in the Volyn region in the conditions of European integration have been developed. The place and role of certain administrative regions, natural-economic zones and categories of producers in the total volumes of agricultural production are determined; The peculiarities of the transformational models of development of the studied rural areas with the justification of the characteristic features of each of them are highlighted. On the basis of the PRESTCOM and SWOT analysis, the purpose, strategic and operational objectives of the development of rural areas of the studied region in the conditions of European integration were set out, a "tree of goals" was built and the directions of improving the living conditions and quality of life of the rural population of Volhynia were substantiated. The results of the study are reflected in the scientific and methodological development: "Strategy of socio-economic development of rural territories of the Volyn region in the conditions of European integration".
