It was shown that the use of NSE in rats restores the content of anionic phospholipids involved in the regulation of the insulin signaling cascade in the membrane structure of insulin-dependent tissues, and thus promotes glucose entry into the cells of these tissues, that is, it has a glucose-lowering effect. The administration of NSE contributes to the normalization of the lipid composition of the liver in conditions of the development of experimental insulin resistance (IR) caused by alimentary obesity and reduces the manifestations of steatosis. It has been established that NSE restores the structural and functional state of the adipose tissue of rats with IR. Data were obtained indicating the possibility of NSE interaction with the PPAR? nuclear receptors, which leads to the blocking of translocation of the transcription factor NF-kB into the nucleus of the cells of the immune system of rats with IP and a decrease in the production of inflammatory mediators (cytokines TNF?, IL1?/?). In experimental models of cholinergic deficiency and social stress in rats, the anti-amnestic effect of NSE was established. In particular, the application of NSE helps to reduce the activity of acetylcholinesterase and, thus, improves the functioning of the cholinergic system of the brain. In addition, NSE contributes to the restoration of the lipid composition of the hippocampus and the frontal cortex - the mammalian brain structures responsible for the formation of cognitive functions and memory. Thus, these effects of NSE underlie its anti-amnestic action and restore cognitive functions in rats. In general, the results of studies of the biological action of NSE under insulin resistance and cognitive impairments suggest that the action of NSE is systemic, aimed at restoring metabolic and structural changes in cells and organs caused by the development of pathological conditions. The results obtained are of high scientific and practical importance and can be the basis for the development of new drugs for the prevention and treatment of diseases, in the pathogenesis of which insulin resistance and cognitive impairments lie.
