To create varieties of spring hulled and naked barley for various purpose with a yield of 7-8.5 t/ha, adapted to the growing conditions in the nothern Forest-steppe and Polissia of Ukraine. Methods: field and laboratory. Results. In 2016-2018, 196 combinations of parental components selected in collection nursery were crossed. 12,000 elite plants were selected and studied in selection and control trials and competitive testing. The promising breeding samples have been selected. In 2017, the variety of hulled barley Marian and the variety of naked barley Natair have been submitted to the State variety testing of Ukraine.
