The subject of research is the scientific and methodological principles of economics and economics and geography courses for basic and high school and their teaching and methodological support; peculiarities of entrepreneurial competence formation in students of the institutions of general secondary education and their preparation for future professional activity; pedagogical technologies and their introduction in teaching aids. The purpose of the research is to substantiate the content of the course of economics and economic-geographic courses for profile education, to develop teaching and methodological support for their implementation in the didactic process. In the process of the first search-modelling stage, the state of development of the problem is analysed and the basic principles of functioning of economic education in the basic and high school of Ukraine are determined. Monitoring among students of the institutions of general secondary education regarding their interests and personal needs for the subject of studying entrepreneurial competence has been monitored. The methodological principles of selecting, structuring and implementing the content of the courses of choice in economics and economic geography are determined and theoretically grounded. The content of the Concept of Economic Education in the institutions of general secondary education of Ukraine is developed.
