The influence of glass elements on the mechanical behavior of polymer adhesives of various rigidity, as well as on the strength and damage of such composite structures under local shock loading at a speed of up to 1000 m / s, was taken into account. Methodological aspects of assessing the strength of adhesive joints of transparent elements, taking into account the peculiarities of their damage during impact, have been worked out. A set of results of shock resistance for aircraft lightweight multi-layer protective glass has been obtained, taking into account the speed and energy of some types of impactors. The results can be recommended for use in the aviation industry, in defense enterprises, as well as in engineering and building transparent structures.
