Theoretical and practical results: the existing technologies of surfacing with powder wires are investigated, the technology of surfacing of the tool for hot metal processing is developed. The influence of the exothermic mixture on thermal parameters of the surfacing process and performance indicators was investigated. The results are presented in the form of drawings and tables. It is expected as a result of obtaining optimal modes and technologies for welding parts of the cutting tool and die hot metal treatment performed using chromium alloys and getting through, layer with high efficiency in material conditions. Novelty: the addition of an exothermic mixture in the form of a powder of aluminum and scale is proposed in the experimental composition of the powdered wire. The combination of its performance indicators exceeds the existing composition of powder wires. The effectiveness of implementation, the proposed structure and technology allow for an optimal composition of surfacing materials for surfacing work surfaces stamping tool that will provide a weld metal that in its performance properties superior to existing chromium steel.
