The purpose of the work is to establish new physical principles and experimental methods for increasing the efficiency of generation of plasma flows on the basis of arc discharge in a multicomponent vapor-gas environment. In work the results of calculations of transport processes and properties of multicomponent plasma arc discharge in the gas-vapor environment are presented. A method is proposed and a method for controlling the reduction of electric conductivity of an arc discharge in a multicomponent vapor-gas medium with a high content of metallic impurities is developed. The influence of an increase in the concentration of metal impurities on the properties of the plasma, in particular on its electrical conductivity, is investigated. It is shown that along with the expected increase in the conductivity of the plasma in conditions of high concentration of metallic impurities in the vapor-gas environment, there is also a decrease in the electrical conductivity. The conditions of development and control of this process are investigated.
