The interaction of electrodes with cytosine and adenine vapors and the processes of multiphoton ionization of alkaline-earth metals were studied. Point UV emitters with excitation of an overstressed nanosecond discharge on copper and zinc vapor and emitters of the visible part of the spectrum with a pulse-periodic barrier discharge at transitions of mercury monohalides were developed; their spatial, spectral and emission, temporal and energy characteristics are investigated.
