A search and analysis of regulatory documents and sources of technical information that may affect the choice of areas of work with the aim of improving the standard of the AC voltage ratio unit are carried out. Identified recommendations for taking into account their requirements when determining the content of work on the improvement of the standard of the AC voltage ratio unit. Information on the current state of the fleet of instrument voltage transformers used in Ukraine for commercial metering of electrical energy, and information on the standards of the AC voltage ratio unit, which are currently in operation in Ukraine and are used for the calibration and verification of voltage transformers and other standards of the the AC voltage ratio unit, are collected and analyzed. Formed and presented a structural diagram of the standard AC voltage ratio unit. The constituent elements of the standard AC voltage ratio unit for their renovation were determined. Variants of methods for expanding the range of reproduction by the standard of the AC voltage ratio unit are proposed.The main technical requirements for the new elements of the standard of the AC voltage ratio unit have been developed.Work was carried out on the development and experimental studies of a low-voltage scale converter, which is necessary to expand the range of reproduction by the standard of the AC voltage ratio unit.
