Purpose of study - to develop the theoretical foundations of genetic and statistical trends of creating the raw material, the improvement of existing and development of new methods for the creation of the original source material, a comprehensive study of it in the various links of the selection process and the creation on its base of self-pollinating lines and high-yielding hybrids, with complex resistance to biotic and abiotic factors. Research methods: the standard methods for creating self-pollinating lines, methods of population selection, laboratory, and field evaluation of vegetative raw material selection, testing of hybrids, statistical methods of analysis of the experimental data. Practical results. On the basis of fundamental research is allocated entirely new original source material, obtained seeds of experimental hybrids and seed breeding sites of self-pollinating lines. Together with the Department of General and Molecular genetics developed a new method for estimating the starting material and determine the racial composition of the downy mildew pathogen. Using microsatellite loci analysis RTS29 ORS1036 are identified patterns of sunflowers, which carry the gene of resistance to broomrape (Orobanche sumana Wallr.) Race E Or5. Novelty: the gene markers of resistance to the new races of broomrape and resistance to herbicides insurance are studied. Created hybrids are resistanted to the most common races of broomrape and downy mildew, tolerant to Phomopsis, white and gray mold with a level of 50-51% oil content of seeds adapted to the conditions of the main growing areas. The results of research will be introduced in agricultural production in Ukraine. Introduction: the hybrids Bar'er (2017), Voles (2018) have been transferred to the State Variety Trial.
