This stage of the project is devoted to the development of a technique for obtaining high-ordered films of normal paraffins on atomic-smooth surfaces of solids, the establishment of the regularities of their epitaxy and the study of tribological properties. For the first time, nematic packaging was found in monolayer films of binary mixtures of normal alkanes C24H50 / C48H98. It has been experimentally shown that the coefficient of friction of films with nematic packaging is 2 times less than the coefficient of friction of smectic films. The result can be used in the development of systems with reduced friction.
