On the basis of modern methods of spatial profiling, a number of variants of blades of working wheels with circular, axial and combined bulk were designed. According to the results of the study, an analysis of the structure of the flow and energy losses in the characteristic sections of the flowing part was performed. The laws of the influence of bulk on the structure of the flow and the energy characteristics of the flow part were determined. Taking into account the performed researches, a new impeller with optimal values of circumferential and axial bulk was designed, which would increase the value of the maximum efficiency of the existing hydro turbine by 1.09% and the capacity by 3.17%.
