The purpose of the study is developing and testing of the mathematical models, which describe the temperature conditions in the metal surface layers and the films under the action of a concentrated energy source in order to select the optimal working and processing parameters for improving the performance of the surface of the parts and the product as a whole. Research methods are analytical, numerical, and analytical-numerical. Models for calculation of thermal conditions on the surface under the influence of concentrated energy sources have been developed: 1) a model describing the temperature distribution in a two-layer structure in which laser radiation operates with the solution of a three-dimensional axially symmetric problem and which allows simulating conditions for laser modification of three-four-layer surfaces by transition metals; 2) model of temperature distribution in the volume structure of a component with a nonlinear profile under the laser radiation with the solution of a one-dimensional problem, which describes the heat conduction equation, and allows to simulate the temperature conditions in the gas turbine blade made from a titanium alloy; 3) a mathematical model describing the laser-induced deposition of substances from metal carbonyls on a dielectric substrate; 4) a model describing the heating of the emitter, taking into account its geometry and the dependence of the heat capacity and the coefficient of thermal conductivity on the temperature in the conditions of the vacuum cathode-arc deposition processes.
