The stratagy of the work is the investigation of the stereochemistry of electrophilic substitution reactions at phosphorus atom. Electrophilic substitution in chiral phosphorus compounds proceeds at the center of high electronic density from the front-side with the retention of absolute configuration. The stereochemistry of the reactions of Arbuzov, Michaelis-Becker, Staudinger, Michael, Mannich, Appel, Atterton-Todd, Cory-Fuchs, etc. was analyzed. The flash-vacuum thermolysis of trimethylsilyl tert-butyl halofenphosphonates was studied. Stereoselective methods for the synthesis of alpha and gamma derivatives of tetradecapentaenoic acid isolated from tropical plants of Zanthoxylum bungeanum (Rutaceae), which posses interesting pharmacological properties, were developed.
