The purpose of the work, in accordance with the analysis of existing electronic textbooks in foreign languages, is to determine the optimal version and develop an electronic textbook for English as an element of the system of distance learning of foreign languages by cadets of higer military educational institutions and military educational units of higher educational institutions, as well as, military students of foreign languages courses in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Research methods are: structure analysis of existing electronic textbooks of foreign languages; systematization of information on possible structure of the electronic textbook on the study of English in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the filling of educational materials; substantiation of existing techniques and technologies used in the system of studying foreign languages and determining the possibility to place an electronic textbook in English studying using its resources; testing and examing of an electronic textbook in the English langugages studying by the officers from the National Defence University of Ukraine named after Ivan Cherniakhovkyi and cadets from the Military Institute of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University; checking the functioning of the developed electronic textbook in the system of distance learning of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and generalization of practical results. According to the results of the studying, an electronic textbook for the distance learning system of foreign languages was developed.
