The aim of the work is to introduce and form collections of gene pool samples of melon plants (melon, watermelon, pumpkin), select samples with a certain level of phenotypic manifestation of individual characteristics or their combination to create featured collections of different directions in the selection work in the zone of the Northern Steppe of Ukraine. Research methods - field, visual, measuring and weight, organoleptic, laboratory, mathematical and statistical. 110 samples of melon , 275 of table watermelon and 218 pumpkin samples of three cultivated species were selected. 15 new melon samples, 28 samples of three cultivated pumpkin species and 9 watermelon samples were introduced. According to 5 morphological signs, 9 standards of watermelon and 41 standards of pumpkin were determined according to 4 signs. Valuable sources of melon (with high productivity - 3, according to the color of the pulp - 5, coloring of the bark - 6, large fruits - 2, according to taste qualities 12, with high seed productivity - 1), pumpkins (with high productivity - 50, early ripening - 50, resistance to melon aphid - 30 sugar content - 32), watermelon - with high productivity (23), large fruit (22), high content of dry soluble substance (27), early ripening (59), genetically tagged (14). A plant genepool collection of melons (14 samples) for early ripeness, yield and fruit quality, of pumpkin (50 samples with an increased level of productivity, early maturity and resistance against pathogens) and of watermelon (48 samples with increased levels of productivity and early maturity) were formed. Three valuable specimens of the gene pool of melon plants were isolated and registered by the National Centre for Plant Genetic Resources of Ukraine: melon Vietnamska (early ripening - 69 days, large-fruited - 3,0 kg/plant, yield - 27,1 t/ha), butternut Avhustyna - different combination of early ripening (115 days) , high marketable yield (36,9 t/ha) and high resistance against melon aphid (9 points), watermelon Pannonia (early ripening - 76 days, commodity yield - 36,9 t/ha, the content of dry soluble substances - 12,0%). 40 - melon, 15 - watermelon, 38 - pumpkin samples were transferred for long-term storage at the National Storehouse. 109 samples were certified, of which melons - 52, watermelon - 2, pumpkins - 55 (in total, 635 samples or 85% were certified). Key words: collection, melon, watermelon, pumpkin, butternut, squash, introduction, plant genepool collection, valuable specimens of the gene pool, standard, source, characteristic, productivity, early ripeness.
