It was stated that below 300°С contribution of MOH into VOP formation is maximal for low rank coal due to reaction with oxygen and alkyl groups; at 400-500°С alkali promotes thermodestruction of polyarenes and heterocycles. Under heating alkali increases up to maximum concentration of unpaired electrons in coals (at 200-250°С). During thermolysis of anthracites with MOH(>250°С) it was identified that rate of VOP formation increases with the rising of diameter and polarizability of cation. It was stated that thermoinitiated reactions of MOH with coals decrease VOP yield, hydroxylate arenes, promote radicals formation, and cleave coal framework into low molecular structural fragments.
