Following the paleomagnetic informativity the modern method of paleomagnetic research are analyzed. The selection of the subaerial formation of Ukraine into the "northern" and "southern" provinces was proposed, which were formed according to the "Chinese" (pedogenic) type and the intermediate "Siberian" type of subareal deposits. We concluded that the rocks of the central Crimea, sedimentary deposits of the Precambrian and Cambrian regions of Podillya, some of the key outcrops in the Central Pridniprovsky, Priazovsky, Dnestrovsky-Buzky, Ingulsky and Northwestern blocks of the Ukrainian shield are not informative for paleotectonic reconstruction. The sedimentary complexes of the Silurian and lower Devonian regions of the south-western part of the Eastern European Platform (Podillya) are informative for paleomagnetic reconstructions and new Silurian and Lower Devonian paleomagnetic poles were determined. The results are in agreement with the existing representations of the geodynamic evolution of the East European platform in the middle Paleozoic and fit into the model of global tectonics of the megablocks of the northern hemisphere. New results on the Vendian traps of Volhynia indicate that there were quite long intervals in the history of the Earth when geomagnetic field generation did not correspond to either the normal (inverse) or superchron mode. For testing of these hypotheses we have to study the other promising objects on the territory of Ukraine. Paleomagnetic determinations of the different blocks of East European Platform in the Paleozoic are rather fragmented. Reconstruction can be performed for some narrow intervals (about 1770-1750My). The evolution of the Volyn and Ingul megablocks of Ukrainian shield in the Proterozoic shown that they have undergone considerable rotation relative to each other. The reconstruction of Volga-Sarmatia and Fennoscandia showed that about 1770-1750My the blocks were located in the equatorial latitudes, while the Ukrainian shield (as a part of Sarmatia) was turned relative to the Fennoscandia by ~ 40 °.This indicates that the final consolidation of the Eastern European Platform was not earlier than 1750My. According to the World Database and the analysis of instrumental observations, the connection between the main magnetic field and the climate has been established. A mechanism is developed that demonstrates a chain of interactions between a magnetic field and various atmospheric parameters and studied its features for the northern and southern hemispheres. It is based on a model that explains the difference in temperature variation between the western and the eastern and central parts of Antarctica.
