The object of the research is the National Museum of Ukrainian History. The purpose of the work is to study the history of the National Museum of History of Ukraine and the formation of its stock collection, the introduction of new scientific information about the persons involved in the creation and development of the museum, the separate museum objects and fund assemblies of the NMHU, the historiographical analysis and systematization of the work of predecessors. The results of the research work - archival materials, photocopies, materials of the museum library, inventory books and other records of the National Museum of History of Ukraine and publications on the history of the museum were analyzed and systematized. A number of archival sources, photocopies, scientific information about museum objects and individual collections of the collection collection of the NMHU, persons involved in the creation and development of the museum were introduced into the scientific circulation. Also analyzed was the publishing activity of the NMU, in particular collections of articles and conferences materials for the period from 1958 (when the first scientific collection of articles of the museum came out) for 2016, as well as methodological developments (methodical recommendations, informational and methodical materials, methodical guides and manuals, etc.) from 1978 to 2018 An unbiased systematic analysis of previous developments and new data on the history of the museum and the history of the formation of its stock collection have allowed us to make new scientific conclusions and generalizations. The obtained results can be used to create general works on the history of Ukraine, in particular the history of collectivization in the Ukrainian SSR, which ultimately led to the greatest tragedy in the history of Ukraine of the twentieth century. - The Holodomor of 1932-1933 (illustrative material). The materials and conclusions of the R&D will be useful in preparing special courses on the history of Ukraine, manuals and textbooks on the history of Ukraine, the history of the national museum, history of military affairs. The results are already partly introduced into the scientific circulation in printed publications, tested at scientific conferences, used during the creation of permanent museum exhibitions and temporary exhibitions, for writing texts of excursions, the preparation of popular science articles on the history of the NMHU and its departments.
