The purpose of the study is to determine the total energy consumption of energy crops (maize for biofuels, giant miskanthus, sugar sorghum, artichoke, tritichinum willow) and to specify their water use coefficients in the context of climate change and also due to changes in the structure of crop areas on drained lands. The water consumption of energy crops on the depleted peat soils of the forest-steppe of Ukraine in the conditions of 2018 is established. The influence of groundwater depth on the total water consumption of investigated cultures is revealed. The influence of groundwater and mineral fertilizer levels on yields of crops was determined. The influence of investigated cultures and fertilizers on the washing of nutrients in groundwater is established. The coefficient of water consumption of energy crops is determined. An analytical note was prepared on the peculiarities of water consumption of energy crops in the depleted peatlands of the forest-steppe.
