The purpose of research is to substantiate methodological recommendations on the mentality formation of personnel of Armed Forces of Ukraineon basis of European values. The following methods were used: analysis of philosophical, psychological, socio-pedagogical literature in order to to find out the state of development of the problem; abstraction and concretization in order to determine the concept of mechanisms for preserving specific features of national mentality and identity of Ukrainian culture, in particular, its axiological component; synthesis, systematization, comparison, generalization in order to study the essence and content of the mentality formation of the personnel of Armed Forces of Ukraine on the basis of European values. The research work deals with historical and philosophical analysis category of mentality that determines the contemporary context of human ontology in culture, its worldview and worldview according to ethnic group (nation, nationality) or sociality of the stratum; the peculiarities of the mentality formation of the personnel of the unit (military unit) The Armed Forces of Ukraine on the basis of European values are analyzed, gender mentality of servicemen and ethical aspects of the management of military units in conditions of development of democratic society. It is proved that the basis of the personnel mentality of Armed Forces of Ukraine on the basis of European values should be: honesty and truthfulness in professional relations; avoiding situations that can lead to interpersonal conflicts, potential conflicts between personal and national interests; immediate actions to prevent the emergence and settlement of conflict situations in the military-professional environment; moderation, avoidance of actions that can be perceived as abuse of the status of a serviceman. The scientific novelty of the results is identification features of the Ukrainian military culture, in particular, its axiological component on the basis of European values.The developed methodological recommendations cover the system of forming the mentality of the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the basis of European values.
