The purpose of the study is to clarify the external and internal conditions that affect the suicidal behaviour of servicemen of Armed Forces of Ukraine. The following methods were used: the analysis of philosophical, medical, psychological, social and pedagogical literature in order to find out the state of development of the problem; abstraction and concretization of concept of psychological and pedagogical prevention of suicidal behaviour of servicemen; synthesis, systematization, comparison, generalization for studying the essence and content of suicidal behaviour of servicemen of Armed Forces of Ukraine. The historical and theoretical analysis of the problem of suicidal behaviour was carried out, the concepts and types of suicidal behaviour, its motives, causes, risk factors were considered, the state of the problem of psychoprophylaxis and psychocorrection of suicidal behaviour were analyzed, features of suicidal behaviour of servicemen of Armed Forces of Ukraine were analyzed. The individual-typological features of the attitude of servicemen of Armed Forces of Ukraine to suicides are investigated. It has been established that disturbing and asthenic variants of depressive disorders are prognostically significant in the formation of suicidal behaviour, high rates of anxiety and depression, high suicide risk, combined with low level of death consciousness, and suicidologic anamnesis. The basis for the formation of a suicidal threat is the high level of anhedonia, internal stress with inability to relax, impulsiveness, problems of interpersonal communication, lack of personal resources to overcome the traumatic situation. Triggers of suicidal behaviour are frustrations of significant basic needs, coverage of the experiences of acute grief with the narrowing of cognitive functions and domination of the content of mental trauma in consciousness, assessment of the situation that has developed as hopeless, loss of target settings of the person, the use of alcohol. The psychological content and psychological factors of the contradictory, neutral and negative attitude of servicemen of Armed Forces of Ukraine to suicides are determined. It is shown that the negative attitude acts as an anti-suicidal factor, but controversial is a risk factor for suicidal behaviour of servicemen of Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to obtained data on the prevention of suicidal behavior of servicemen, it is suggested to take into account the attitude towards suicide, and psychoprophylaxis of suicides should form a negative attitude and develop the psychological peculiarities that cause it. The scientific novelty of the obtained results is to identification of causes of suicidal behaviour of servicemen of Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the possibility of using the obtained data in order to prevent suicidal behaviour.
