The state of cognitive functioning, emotional-behavioral sphere and endocrine system in 27 irradiated fetuses as a result of the Chernobyl accident and 10 unexposed in utero individuals. The aim of the work is to investigate the structural-functional changes in the organo-type primary culture of thyroid gland cells in rats irradiated as a result of radioisotope 131I in different gestational periods. To evaluate cognitive, emotional and behavioral and endocrine disorders in the affected, irradiated during the prenatal period as a result of the Chernobyl disaster. Methods of research: obtaining and cultivating primary cultures of cells from thyroid tissues of newborns, cytological, biophysical, clinical, neuropsychiatric, neurophysiometric, neuropsychological, neurophysiological, statistical, dosimetric. The primary culture of thyroid gland of newborns has been obtained, its structural and morphofunctional characteristics have been studied. It was found that under conditions of iodine-131, thyroid gland of descendants undergoes structural and morphofunctional changes at the cellular level (dual cells, cells with microcurrents, apoptosis and disturbances in differentiation of follicles). The revealed "rectangular" cells, which indicate significant genotoxic disorders and instability of the genome in the offspring of animals exposed to iodine-131, are a sign of neoplastic transformation. In prenatally irradiated persons, a tendency to increase the frequency of neurocognitive deficits and emotional behavioral disorders was traced. Increased frequency of pathological electroencephalograms due to paroxysmal activity and "flattened" type of cerebral bioelectric activity. Increased frequency of pathogenic electroencephalograms due to paroxysmal activity and "flattened" type of cerebral bioelectric activity. A probable diffuse decrease is established in proportion to the increase in the dose of irradiation in utero of the absolute and relative spectral power of the theta-range kEEG, which is considered as a marker of the functioning of the hippocampus. Investigation of the structural-fuctional state of the endocrine system in individuals exposed to utero showed an increase in the frequency of non-malignant pathology of thyroid glands, the most common being nodular nontoxic goiter. There is a significant prevalence among these individuals in hyperplasia of the pharyngeal glands, Product Description popup.authors
