The conceptual business information model of the electricity market of Ukraine was improved on the basis of the harmonization of the ENTSO-E role model. A general business-information model of imbalance settlement has been developed, clarifying information flows and the sequence of data exchange. A general description of the concept of a balancing group is given, its main functions are defined and general information about the types of balancing groups is given. The analysis of world experience in the implementation of balancing groups in the electricity market has been carried out and the benefits of their implementation have been determined. A review of the current Ukrainian legislation on the organization of the functioning of balancing groups in the electricity market was made. The models of creation and functioning of balancing groups in the electricity market of Ukraine have been developed. The results of the work were used for: organization and scientific and technical editing of terms and definitions of their concepts of a harmonized role-based model of the electricity market, commissioned by the SE NEK Ukrenergo; to develop a refined general scheme of a harmonized model of the electricity market for use in the NEK Ukrenergo; in the work of the Technical Committee of Standardization No. 162 during the submission of proposals to the national standardization plan of Ukraine.
