THERMOELECTRIC GENERATORS, STAGE MODULES, COMPUTER SIMULATION, OPTIMAL CONTROL THEORY, PHYSICAL MODEL, EFFICIENCY, HEAT STABILIZATION. The object of the study is a solid-fuel thermoelectric generator. The aim of the work is the development of highly efficient thermoelectric generators (TEG) on solid fuels through the use of two-stage thermoelectric generator modules and a thermosyphon. Research methods are thermodynamic methods of irreversible processes as applied to thermoelectric energy conversion in thermoelectric materials; mathematical physics methods for determining temperature fields and heat flux distributions in a thermoelement legs, methods of mathematical theory of optimal control for determining the optimal composition of thermoelectric materials and optimal characteristics of modules made from such materials; methods of computer simulation and design of thermoelectric modules and generators; experimental methods for studying the energy characteristics of thermogenerators. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the theoretical and technological foundations developed for the creation of new types of thermoelectric generator modules for use in solid heat sources of heat and highly efficient designs of thermoelectric generators for solid fuel furnaces. Based on the results of the studies, prototypes of two-stage generator modules from BiTe-based thermoelements in a low-temperature and PbTe and TAGS in a high-temperature cascades were developed, whose efficiency in the operating temperature modes from 30 to 500? reaches 10.4%. It was proved that the use of such modules in solid-fuel generators enables increasing the efficiency of heat-to-electricity conversion by 1.5 to 2 times. Structures have been developed and samples of thermoelectric solid fuel generators with a rated electric power of 5 W with generator stage modules and a thermosyphon have been developed. The research confirmed that the use of a thermosiphon in the design of solid-fuel thermogenerators is an effective method for stabilizing the hot side temperature of thermoelectric modules, and the use of two-stage generator modules as a thermopile can improve the efficiency of thermoelectric energy conversion. The results of the project are of practical value for the instrument-making industry, since their use makes it possible to create a unique type of highly efficient and reliable thermoelectric sources of electricity working on solid fuels that have no known analogues worldwide. The project results are aimed at the development of the national military-industrial complex, since they contribute to improving the provision of heat and electricity in combat zones, creating reliable conditions for providing these zones with electricity both for lighting and for charging accumulator batteries of various military equipment. The implementation of the project results is extremely important for the needs of the country's scientific and technological sphere, since it will contribute to the emergence of new highly efficient technologies, the development of scientific potential and staffing, and will expand the interrelations of the research sector with industrial enterprises. The development and implementation of the project results should have an important practical value in solving the global problem of saving energy resources, reducing the need for gas for heating, rational use of resources in large quantities in Ukraine in the form of firewood and wood waste, which have not been currently sufficiently used.
