Results: The indoor radon EECs and radon concentration in soil are determined for two settlements which situated on radon-hazardous areas.The research has established excess 100 Bq m-3 of indoor radon-222 EECs in 37-71% of dwellings, the level of 200 Bq m-3 in 22-30% and the level of 400 Bq m-3 in 5-6% of dwellings. Studies identified a low radon potential for soils (the measured radon concentration varied from 18 to 22 kBq m-3). Studies found engineering and planning solutionsof dwellings affect indoor radon level. The algorithm for remediation activities was substantiated based on the analysis of indoor radon levels in dwellings, and appropriate methodical recommendations about procedures for carrying out remediation activities have been developed.
