The object of the research is the development and improvement of management mechanisms and approaches in the field of international financial cooperation of Ukraine. Subject of research - the direction of development and use of financial and credit instruments of international institutions The purpose of the work is to substantiate the theoretical and scientific-methodological foundations, to develop proposals for modernizing strategic approaches to regulating international financial cooperation of Ukraine, in particular, identifying key areas, objectives, expected results of attracting international financial assistance from donor states, international organizations and the EU with international financial institutions for 2017-2020 in accordance with current government policy documents. Research methods: generalization, observation and comparison, synthesis and analysis, statistical observations, system approach, structural analysis. Results and their novelty: analysis of the current state of Ukraine's international financial cooperation. The proposals were formulated regarding the possibilities of implementing effective approaches and practices in terms of the further development of the management of financial resources of international financial institutions in Ukraine. Strategic areas of cooperation with international organizations and promising approaches to attracting international funding were identified. The strategic development benchmarks and ways to improve the efficiency of Ukraine's international financial cooperation in the context of implementing the national strategy for reforming the public financial management system are substantiated. The methodological basis for the development and use of financial and credit instruments of international institutions, in particular in the fields of higher education and science of Ukraine, is substantiated. Scope - can be used in the activities of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science in the preparation of normative acts and program documents in the context of international financial and scientific cooperation.
