The tendencies and driving factors of EU evolution in the spheres of foreign policy, security policy and defense cooperation are explored. Developed innovative guidelines for integration as a condition for the implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. The practice of the Association Agreements in the EU is highlighted. The ways of harmonization of Ukrainian legislation with the EU law in the field of competition rules within the framework of the FTA are determined. The economic consequences of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU are determined.
