The subject of the study is: theory and practice of adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to EU legislation. Objective: To achieve the compliance of the acquis communautaire with the legal system of Ukraine, taking into account the criteria put forward by the European Union to the states which intend to join it. Methods of research - formal-logical, comparative-legal, system, statistical and other scientific methods of research. The ideas and concepts of philosophy, history, general theory of law, and so on are actively used. Results of work - conditions and factors of adaptation of the legislation of Ukraine to the legislation of the European Union are developed; specify the means necessary to achieve the compliance of the acquis communautaire with the legal system of Ukraine, taking into account the criteria put forward by the European Union (EU) to the states which intend to enter it; defined the subjects responsible for the formation of the legal system of Ukraine that would comply with the acquis communautaire, their competence and powers of implementation; the forms and mechanisms of adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to the legislation of the European Union that will promote the realization and full protection of rights and legitimate interests of the person in relations with public authorities will limit the manifestations of bureaucracy, arbitrariness and corruption, will bring the functioning of public administration actors closer to the standards of European public performance -voluntary institutions; the forms and mechanisms of adaptation of the legislation of Ukraine to the legislation of the European Union are grounded in the following areas: administrative law, police law, telecommunication law, information law, intellectual property, labor protection, health and life of people, animals and plants, environment, energy, including nuclear, transport, as well as in the areas of public service and criminal justice; a glossary of legal terminology, proposals for amending the legislation of Ukraine, as well as recommendations for subjects of law-making activity; the value of the results of research work for legal science and further professional research is proved.
