The purpose of the work is to find new ways to increase the productivity of agricultural crops on acidic soils, taking into account their buffer capacity. Methods of research - general scientific (system, complex), expeditionary, field, experimental, laboratory and comparative-analytical. Theoretical and practical results - generalized methodical approaches to determining the level of acid-base equilibrium in acid soils. The relationship between soil buffer properties and doses of calcium carbonate, necessary for achieving optimal acid-base balance for the main crops, has been established. The calculation of optimal doses of lime meliorants in the cultivation of agricultural crops on acid soils, taking into account their buffer capacity, has been calculated. Novelty is to establish the laws of changing the physical and chemical parameters of acidic soils, depending on the doses of calcium carbonate, buffer properties of soils and physiological needs of crops. Efficiency of implementation - implementation of the project provides resource-saving, in comparison with existing calculations of doses, norms and methods of making meliorants, achieved by reducing the doses of calcium-containing meliorants and, accordingly, saving labor and energy resources when they are introduced.
