Karazin popup.description2 Object of research: physical processes of propagation, transformation and diagnostics of wave beams with a nonuniform spatial polarization of radiation generated in quasi-optical laser resonators in the terahertz range. The purpose of research the creation of new and effective methods of forming intracavity continuous-wave laser beams with a nonuniform spatial polarization and methods of their diagnostics in the terahertz spectral range. Methods of research: method of finite differences in the time domain for bodies of revolution; matrix method; parameter measurement method of spatial polarizations using matrix receivers with polarizers. A method of forming a separate transverse mode with azimuthal polarization of the field in a quasi-optical laser resonator of the terahertz range using polarization-selective large-scale and small-scale diffraction gratings as heterogeneous mirrors of both transmission and reflected types was first proposed, theoretically substantiated and experimentally confirmed. A new method for measuring the space-energy and polarization characteristics of radiation is proposed. The experimental sample of a matrix receiver was designed and created for measuring parameters of spatial polarization of radiation, and the algorithm of signal processing from a matrix receiver was developed. The results of the research can be used to solve problems related to the interaction of electromagnetic waves with matter: in the diagnostics of the surface of materials, thin films, biological objects, THZ systems of transmission and processing of information, excitation of ring resonators from metamaterials.
