Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology popup.description2 For the first time, the relative contribution of MDS and myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) in the various groups of persons who suffered from Chernobyl accident was estimated. The trend for the increasing incidence of these diseases was found in the structure of oncohematological diseases among the population of the regions of Ukraine differing by radionuclide contamination as well in the group of the persons aged 0-4 at the moment of Chernobyl accident. Among MPN, the relative contribution of CML as one of the probable radiation-associated leukemias was higher in the patients from the contaminated regions within two first five-year periods following Chernobyl accident (1991-1995, 1996-2000). Moreover, in 2011-2015 CML percentage in the patients aged 0-4 at the moment of Chernobyl accident was 1.6-fold higher than in patients from other age groups at the moment of the accident. In the patients from the group of Chernobyl clean-up workers, MDS and MPN were verified in 15.2% cases. Meanwhile, CML was the predominant form among MPN cases (50% in males and 66% in females).
