This important scientific and practical task is solved from the standpoint of hydrodynamic and environmentally safe development of the potential of coal regions. The study of the features of the thermal field formed around a flooded mine (for different conditions of coal mining regions) and its energy and capacitive potential have been studied. On this basis, the methods of modeling the changes of the thermodynamic regime of flooded mining workings during loading, accumulation and selection of mine waters for substantiation of parameters of heat and cold supply of buildings have been developed. The parameters of the geotechnical module aimed at the effective development of the thermal resource of the flooded mine due to underground combustion of residual coal reserves, taking into account the need to maintain a given temperature regime of mine waters, are substantiated.
